About Polgooth Film Club
Pricing and membership details
Prices: Membership for the year - £6 (includes entry to film)
Existing members - £3 (£2 for under 16s)
Tickets do not need to be booked in advance. Simply turn up on the evening of a film showing, where you can pay your entry fee or become a member if you haven't attended before. You can become a member at any point in the year, but memberships will expire on 31st December of the year you signed up. You will then need to renew the following year.
Under 16s do not require membership. Under 12s will need to be accompanied by an adult, and that adult will need to be a member.
Obviously, we will also need to abide by the BBFC film ratings. In the case of 12A rated films, it is up to the parent/grandparent to ensure the film is suitable for their child.
Refreshments will be available on the night, including tea, coffee, hot chocolate, squash and tins of drink.
Popcorn will be available for sale to make it a proper cinema experience!

Do I need to become a member?
Membership is compulsory in order to attend a Polgooth film showing (unless you are under 16). Your membership money goes straight to C Fylm, and helps to keep the scheme running, keeping the price of the film licence at an affordable level. A film club is something that could not be maintained in the village if it were not for the subsidised rate that C Fylm offers.
Ticket money from future screenings (once membership has been paid for the year) will go towards village hall funds. Membership will need to be renewed on an annual basis.
A membership card will be provided and is valid until the end of year. Membership of C Fylm allows members to attend any of the film clubs around the county. When signing up, you will be added to the C Fylm mailing list which means you will receive monthly updates about the films being shown.
Details of other C Fylm clubs and films can be found at

About C-Fylm
C-Fylm is a network of community film clubs, which is run by a partnership between the British Film Institute, Carn to Cove, Cornwall Film Festival and Feast. C-Fylm supports community venues to screen a season of films for their local audience. It offers people across Cornwall the chance to watch great films in their own community, in the company of friends and family, at an affordable price.
When becoming a member of Polgooth Film Club, you also become a member of C-Fylm. This means that you can attend any of the 20+ film clubs around Cornwall when you show your membership card.
C-Fylm helps make running a film club in the village affordable. Without their help, a typical licence for one film showing can cost over £85. On top of this, a copy of the film would need to be bought, paperwork would need to be filled out and a poster would need to be produced.
C-Fylm ask for just £20 per showing to cover the licence fee, a copy of the Blu-Ray sent in the post (with return postage) and production of a poster. They are also on hand to help with any queries we may have. All we need to do is decide what we show and when, and then complete a box office form following a film showing.
Based on the 15 showings from our first year, we paid only £300 in licence fees (plus membership money) as opposed to £1500 if we ran the club independently.
