Around 60 people attended, helping to raise the massive total of £450!
Polgooth Christmas Fayre and Christmas Lights Switch On
Saturday 26th November - 3pm - Polgooth Village Hall
Saturday 26th November - 3pm - Polgooth Village Hall
Thanks to the tireless fundraising carried out by the Polgooth Inn, we are now able to have a 16ft Christmas tree outside of the village hall. Although we have been told we can't have lights running down Fore Street, lights have been provided to houses along the street to light it up that way.
The annual Christmas Fayre will kick things off at 3pm next Saturday. There will be several stalls selling handmade products, as well as tombola stalls for the children. A raffle will also be held. Tea, coffee and cake will be available throughout the afternoon, and soups will be served from 4pm. St Mewan School Community Choir will be arriving from around 5.30pm to sing a number of seasonal carols.
With the fayre wrapping up at around 5.45pm, our attention will then turn to the outside of the hall, where the tree is due to be lit at around 6pm. Mince pies, chestnuts and mulled wine will be available, with the choir leading a sing-song around the Christmas tree. The raffle will be drawn shortly after the tree ceremony; top prize is a cosy night in hamper, containing all sorts of goodies for a cold winter evening.
Please be aware that parking will be limited due to the location of the tree and where the crowd will be standing to gather around it. Please note: Father Christmas is unable to make an appearance this year.
